Election deniers and fringe media outlets have taken aim at their latest target: The Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC). In the past year, many states have left or announced they are considering leaving this consortium that has improved the accuracy of voter rolls for years.

You can be sure these political extremists will not stop at ERIC. They will continue attempting to influence voting policy with unfounded conspiracy theories rooted in the Big Lie of a stolen 2020 election.

The election denial threat is alive and well. As your constituent, I’m asking you to protect our electoral system from political manipulation when you consider voting bills this session. Even previously bipartisan or nonpartisan initiatives are being attacked.

For example, some states are leaving the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC). ERIC has enjoyed strong bipartisan support for years and has kept voter rolls up to date by sharing registration information between member states.

But thanks to conspiracy theories being spread by election deniers, ERIC is under threat. Member states are abandoning the consortium – to the detriment of accurate voter rolls. Election deniers won’t stop at dismembering ERIC, which is why we need to fortify our election laws.
